Our Film Gear
For capturing the stunning beauty of our travels, we’ve honed our camera kit to be simple yet highly effective. After years of trial and error, we’ve settled on gear that offers the best balance of portability and quality. From our reliable mirrorless camera and lens to the compact drone we use for breathtaking aerial shots, our kit ensures we can film seamlessly on the go.
Our Cameras + Lenses
Our Main Camera
Our new camera we started using in April 2024. It’s a photo and video powerhouse. We love the 10 bit colors and AI focus feature, plus the stabilization is phenomenal and we get some great slow-motion shots!
Our Main Lens
We needed a lens that could should wide and zoom in, and this lens fit our needs! Plus, it can get as low as F2.8 for some nice bokeh! The autofocus is fantastic and the quality really was an upgrade from our kit lens.
Our Drone
This is the gear that makes the biggest difference in our videos! Flying a drone is not only super fun, but you get these fantastic cinematic shots that really help to set the scene for your story.
Our Go-Pro
An action camera is essential for times where we don’t feel safe using a big camera (like at the beach or in more dangerous areas). This bundle is great since it includes all the essentials at a cheaper price!
Our Audio Equipment
Our Wireless Mic
We use these mics for the majority of our talking shots. These connect via bluetooth and offer incredible noise cancellation!
Our Shotgun Mic
Up until July-2024, we used this mic for all our shots. We decided to change to our wireless mic since we wanted to be able to move further from the camera while talking and cancel out noise, but this is still a fantastic and affordable mic to start with! We love that this mic turns on and off automatically when our camera is on/off
Our Voiceover Mic
At home, we use this mic to add voiceovers to our videos. It has studio quality sound at an amazing price!
Our Tripods
Our Gorilla Pod
This Gorilla Pod can hold up to 6lbs and is great for wrapping around poles or setting on top of objects when we don’t feel like using our big tripod.
Our Tripod
We can’t believe this tripod is under $75! It feels expensive, and is perfect for traveling. We love that it comes with a piece for your smartphone as well!
Our Stabilizer
We try to use our stabilizer for smooth shots as much as possible! The battery life on this is great, and we love that it can also act as a tripod!
Our Camera Accessories
GoPro Car Mount
This accessory is used for capturing scenes in the car and includes a suction cup, which means we can easily remove this from rental cars cars while traveling.
Camera Bag
We’ve tried dozens of bags, but this one is our favorite! It’s water resistant and has storage on the top for our flight essentials!
GoPro Head Mount
This accessory is useful for times when we need to be hands-free, like when we’re riding scooters, ziplining, or rafting!
Drone ND Filters
These filters make a huge difference for filming on our drone. They are useful especially in super bright locations, like at a beach.
Lens Leashes
These lens leashes make it so you’ll never lose your lens cap!
Our Computer + Editing Setup
2020 MacBook Pro
We use a 2020 MacBook Pro with 32GB RAM, which is sufficient for editing 4k footage.
Our Portable Monitor
This monitor is a game-changer! It’s under $75 and folds up like an ipad. We use this a lot when working remotely while traveling.
Final Cut Pro
We’ve used Final Cut Pro to edit our footage since 2014! We like that it’s a one time purchase.
Our Music
We use this service to get all our royalty-free music that you hear in our videos
Our Hard Drive
We’ve repurchased this same hard drive over an over again! We usually buy one a year to hold all our footage.
